This was a little competition I said I was going to do with Snumpkin, but it seems that A couple other people we intrested as well, so I'm opening this to everyone.

Basically, this will be a little competition to help encourage new and moderately new cjers to practice more and become better through competition with others. Each week or so you will post a new trick you've learned and become pretty good at, judges will then determine who has the best trick and give them a point and/or the leader title. The next week we do it again, with the best trick reciveing a point. This gives people something to work tworards and if the leader, something to defend by staying good and ahead of the pack.

Well, before we can start we'll need a few judges that might be interested, to be a judge you must be a good CJer and be able to give advice on how to improve techniques. We'll also need a few intreseted participants (if you don't want to Snumpkin, you don't have to join). Other then that I think we're good to go, so happy CJing!

Current Judges:
BallGuy

Current Parcipants:
SilverSphere
blumatyr
Snumpkin

I'm not sure technical skill can really be judged in CJ, I think artistry is more important because it's not how many tricks you know it's how you vary them to your own personal style.

In toss juggling there are usually two BASIC categories and lots of sub-categories for judging. One is technical, (Numbers) and one is artistic (Variations and patterns usually with three balls or clubs but sometimes more)

Here, there's more creative style than technical stuff. (In CJ alone. I personally combine toss AND CJ.) And unless you got some really experienced people I think it'd be hard to judge between to people doing tricks.

Man, I've been at a convention all weekend, so I had no idea this was starting!!! I would be very happy to join in this, so let's get some guidelines and contest dates set up so we can commence!
Great idea!

Well, I still practiced most of my moves there, so not much time lost...
PLUS I have 3 free classes every day at school, not to mention this week off for Turkey day :-D.
Victory will be mine!

Well, I'm friends with both blumartyr and snumkin, and we're all in texas. . .I'm near the tyler area, but often go to the Dallas and Houston areas, could possibly swing Austin if i needed too. Live judging would be one helluva lot easier.

personally, I think the only way judging could work would be to have people submit video's, but I think this could become difficult, since a lot probably don't have a video camera. But I would be happy to join in.

How bout we meet up at the ren fest? BallGuy works it anyway, he could judge, and a few more too maybe, if we could organize it...

Anyway, that seems to be a good thing to do, have us all meet up there the same weekend, or just at our leisure if he's willing to do it in the first place... lol

Then we could also help get some more people interested if they see that other people are good at it too, and it's not entirely impossible to improve lol
