so this was talked about a wee bit in the general forum on the dot org xmas tree thread.

so the plan is to start the compatition sometime when were out of school, and see who can learn neck rolls the fastest.
here are the rules
1. the neckroll must be with a 3'' arcylic
2. any ball of any size may be used to learn the neck roll
3. if you have long hair you must do it so it looks hilariously funny and girlie so that we can luagh at you

. thinking about it, june is a bit far. so hows this mabye just start when you want to, but record the date of which you started practicing. then write about your progress here every day.
arnar
ps. rule 3 is not nessasray but i'll i do it

What about those of us that are female already?

And those of us (like me, I guess) who have no/nonbinary gender, or don't want to be bound by gender roles? (yeah, that one gets complicated)

I'm sure that comment was all in fun, but things like that are a pet peeve of mine.

I'll see, first I have to find a good time to start practicing, perhaps this winter break. And maybe I'll even do my hair up in a silly, but very macho and masculine manner.

Well, The Samuri topknot is one thing. Pigtails however... that's a bit past my bounderies. I mean, had it been something out of the Grinch or something, I could go for it....

We'll see.

And just a minor point of anality, what exactly would you conciter the end point of learning the trick? Getting one down, or getting it one out of 5 times?

No matter the answer, I'm starting tonight! I love racing to new goals. For some reasons it's often just the motivation you need.

My hair? Hanging down my chest, to two or three ribs below my pectoral.

Ditto.

They're not that difficult to learn, but they are a bit harder to master.

Speaking of which, I haven't practised them in Ages... I doubt I could still do one... We'll see tonight!

I think that people should post videos of themselves doing a behind the neck roll, so that other people can judge whether they've got it or not...

Hrm, for some reason I'm still having a little trouble with it. I think there might be something I'm doing wrong. Everytime I get it past my first shoulder, it just up and rolls down my back. I think I have to put more thought into my shoulderblades.... But I just got my Mr. Babache CJ ball, (All big and light and plastic.... I love it...) And hopefully that'll speed things along.

I think (theorizing here) after the ball goes up to your shoulder and over the little bump lean left and forward till it gets your neck; to slow it down lean to your right as if trying to make a circle to counter balance the kinetic energy and move it over the little bump and down your left arm.
If That doesnt work well it wouldnt surprise me. thats just a theory cause im still trying to stall it on my neck
