Hello everyone, my name is Damon and I'm a 23 year old new to contact juggling living on the east coast of the united states. About a year ago a friend of mine showed me some videos on youtube of this Japanese contact juggler named Okotanpe. Interested, I spent the entire night looking through and re-watching video after video. The way he isolated and moved the ball seemed to bring the sphere to life. His skill coupled with his attitude and ability to play his crowds amazed me. While I knew then that the beauty of sphere manipulation captivated my interest it wasn't until about a month that I had the time to finally start learning more about this art form. Following the advice of some friends I ordered my first ball and waited. The suggested site was located in New Zealand so the wait time was longer than I had hoped for, however, during this time I spent any free moment watching tutorials and explanations. I have had my practice ball ( 95mm ) for two weeks now and while its larger and heavier than I expected, I cannot put the thing down! ( Though I sure can drop it a lot! ).

So far I have been practicing index and pinky rolls as well as just simply tossing the ball from one cradle position to another. As a musician of 10 years I understand the importance of the basics so I intend to hone those before even attempting other moves. I look forward to getting to know this community and learning what I can. Okotanpe himself suggested this site so I only have the best of expectations!

Believe it or not I have heard of FLAME! Some of my family lives in the Georgia area and told me about it a month ago. Sadly, most of my recent funds have gone into a new car I had to purchase. ( my old one Thunderbird finally kicked the bucket on me ). Cheers to you if you are going, it looks and sounds like a wicked good time. Take videos if you can!!

Deku Link! Sorry to get off topic, but Majora's Mask is my favourite of the series.

Agreed, people complain about the graphics, but I don't know. It'd be a major derail to list all of the reasons.

Welcome! I like the name Toonaphish...it amuses me.

And since Majora's Mask has been mentioned, I liked it quite a bit too. Except for the part where the cows got abducted by aliens, that was just creepy.

Haha, I think I should wait until I get a couple stage balls. At the moment all I have are heavy acrylics.

Well, I agree with i Mark on that one.

I'm also a musician, and welcome to the forums.
