"Das Isobar" is the secret evil plan I've been hatching for some time now...

It all began when I decided to make myself some iso batons. The more I looked into it, the more prototypes I made, the more I realised that all the aggro it took to find those perfect batons could be put to good use if I were to knock a few out for other people.

Then I got my serious thinking head on and thought about all the other props that we all lust after but can't get our hands on. So the last few months have been spent buying large bits of machinery and sourcing companies to either supply me with the materials to make things myself or to manufacture parts for me that are beyond my capabilites.

The end result being me starting a new company called Das Isobar Ltd. It's THE place to find all of those isolation-heavy props for playabout or performance.

At this moment in time I'm just about finished building a bundle of isolation batons that Oddballs will be taking to BJC next week. They will also be available to buy through the Camden Oddballs shop or via their website, and also via my own website.
There are a few different options available regarding batons, and I must say, some of them are just soooo pretty! Photos coming soon

My website is up and running but has taken a back seat while I've been hammering away in the workshop, so it's only just the bare skeleton at the moment. It does give you some deeper insights as to where I'm heading; all of the products mentioned except the balls thing have all been discussed with a company who are happy to take on my designs and build them in a cost effective way, so they are in the pipeline but have to wait until I can raise the capital. But come they will :D

Check it out - Das Isobar

just to say I've had my hands on some of the finished products, and they're objects of beauty - particularly those with acrylic rods.

Is all the acrylic going to be clear? I hope this venture works out for you.

@ iMark - you only saw the prototypes, trust me the ones that are heading to BJC are ten times sexier  There are also more variations in the pipeline...

@ Dizz - thanks very much :D All products are available in clear acrylic but also with some great variations. The batons are also available with white acrylic rods (they look like porcelain, and my personal favourite), UV blue rods, and a special version where there is a solid colour bar through the middle and surrounded by clear acrylic. These look so amazing, I'm really happy with how they've turned out. Photos very soon.
The eightrings are going to look like glass with that green tinge to the edges, but I can't help but think the effect looks better when they are made of a solid colour. I think the white ones (also acrylic) will look like porcelain too, I'm really looking forward to seeing them in the flesh :D

@ Frawg - if my idea can be made a reality then this will potentially open up a whole new (affordable) concept that many people will be very very happy about. Mum's the word right now but will have more news within the next few weeks!

@ Teku - just in case you didn't know, Okotanpe is doing a nice looking line in batons too! Way more affordable than the postage options I have available to me I'd imagine.

@ Cory - yep, I did consider it but figured I'd wait until the website is fully operational first. I don't even have any good photos of anything yet...

I'm so excited :ahhh:
