Im trying to learn a palm iso following the 4 isos guide on the wiki but it mentions have a really good 1b wave (i think there is a broken link where it says that) ive tried google, ive searched youtube, ive searched the forums, i cant find anyone who explains what that is.

Im sure its something i know under another name, but can anyone help me out?

Hey Wisemage, I think they're talking about what is commonly called a "finger roll". Just look for tutorials on that on Youtube - there's a few good ones.

The reason it's good to have a solid finger roll is because it gives you the control you need to move the ball from finger-->finger-->finger, which is what you are doing for most of the palm circle isolation.

Another question regarding a palm circle isolation, when the ball gets to my thumb it ends up getting raised by the heel of my hand just below my thumb. Is this normal, or should i practice making my hand even flatting while working on it?

Hand as flat as you can get it. And your hand itself will have to very subtly move up and down to compensate for the terrain as well.

You're aiming for the ball to appear absolutely stationery in space, so any and all movement needs to happen in your hand not in the ball. If you spot movement in the ball, figure out how to transfer that movement to your hand instead.

Palm circle iso = hardest of all moves to really get smooth imo. Expect it to take a loooot of practice.

As of right now, all i have is a 3" acrylic (not an F. ball) i have a 4" sil-x and contact ball coming in the mail by monday.

Which one would be better to practice with? (taking into consideration that ill use a 4" acrylic once i get good enough to perform and such)

I'd say that's a horse-a-piece. You can practice with either of them. The 3" will be difficult because it's a little small. The sil-x will be difficult because it's got a plug and seam and is also a bit light. That said, they can both be isolated fine with perseverance.

Your best bet for an effective palm isolation is a 3.5" or 4" acrylic.

The plug and seam of the sil-x won't matter for practice/learning. It really only comes into play with performance.
