Slightly off topic,

But Dark, having a huge .org webcam party/workshop would be amazing.

This is something I've been thinking about lately as well.

Contact juggling is a visual art. Whilst videos are great for showing CJ you cant always find exactly what you are looking for.
Earlier several of us were helping a new CJ'er via chat with some pointers that could of been much easier with visuals.

So anyway, how could .org integrate webcams? Tbh I'm not sure how possible that is, I've not had a chance to look into it in any great detail. I know there are plugins for several flavours of CMS that may prove usable with the .org system.

A simpler alternative maybe to utilise a service like tinychat, if it was possible to embed this somehow on the site all the better, failing that possibly if any interested people fancy seeing if this is feasible maybe we could get together at some point and do some experimenting.

I have multiballed using webcam before and that worked ok, I've never tried webcamming via a group system so I'm not sure how good that would be. One way to find out if anybodys up for a bit of experimenting?

To be honest, the only system I know of that allows easy multiple webcam is Stickcam. It's an online, browser based tool that displays video from each of the users, but I found it quirky and annoying to use. It was a bunch of fun, despite that.

As far as actual applications, no idea. Have they allowed it in Skype yet?

That means I would have to wear pants when I visit the chatroom doesn't it?

Signed up with stickam last night to have a look around it and see what the limitations would be

I'm using a built in webcam which isn't the best* but you can make out the ball, me, fingers etc just fine for slow moves but theres motion blur for anything of the butterfly transfer family (maybe i'm just a fast cj'er). It really brings out any slackness in isolations and is freaking me out more than working with a mirror when it comes to which direction is which.

So maybe not great for sharing complicated/complex stuff but for general tip sharing or step by stepping thru concepts it could prove handy.

Anyway, if anyone with a stickam account or skype wants to have a crack at this let me know. maybe if you see me in chat.
(couldn't seem to find any info on tiny cam Esquire)

few hickups with mods not keeping video permissions and the like. I'd like to try it again.

It was really helpful seeing the different moves, and how they were being done! So I'd definitely suggest that anyone who could use help get in and watch next time!
