So, I tend to drop alot still, and get scratches. I recently buffed the hell out of them with a machine, to crystal clear clarity. I started spinning a pyramid, and shortly after I started seeing little ( and i mean tiny) scratches begin to appear, with no drops mind you. Over time my acrylics look hazy from all the little scratches. So is this normal? Does the little amount of friction that occurs cause this scratches? Are they caused from dust?

Yup. There are far more things than you can see rubbing in between your acrylics. The only solution is to have a busted set that you spin for fun and a nice set that you spin for others.

Or just keep polishing them on a regular basis. Giving them a going over once a week will keep them in pristine condition. I have a set of 6 year old balls acrylics I use for multiball, and the only difference between them and a brand new set is that mine are in better condition ;)

Did you wash off the balls after polishing?
Otherwise you may leave grinding paste on there, which will scratch in use.

Also, I found that for my balls, a lot of the microscratches happened to the balls in transit, store/carry them separately and keep them clean.

D'oh...I always forget to wash mine after polishing. Guilty about the transit issue too...I've knitted pouches, but the only one that I usually use one for is my 100mm glowy violet acrylic. I usually have 5 or 6 balls just thrown haphazardly in my purse (4 of them are only 2 inch, so it's not usually as bulky as it sounds).
