A short clip from Pacific Fire Gathering courtesy of the eminently spinny Shin:

Awesome! Is that a FireFli? I have been wanting to get one of those for a while. And this might sound stupid but how difficult was it to do Iso's with? I know it is HOT but was it so much so that iso's aren't worth it? I ask cuz you are the first person I have seen do Enigma-y stuff with one.

Naw, Fyreflies definitely do not have enough surface area to work well as a CJ ball... it's a Trick Concepts fireball: http://www.trickconcepts.com/4-Inch-Fire-Contact-Juggling-Ball-P167.aspx

Isolations are fine once you let the thing burn down a little. It burns cool enough that your hands won't jump off it; it's more like grabbing a frying pan that's just cool enough to move to the other burner real quickly. As with all fire props, this one burns you less as you burn it more, and now I'm getting pretty good at understanding the pace at which I have to juggle in order to keep from getting burnt.

Yay, I'm glad video has popped up ^^. Due to some random family stuff I had to give my ticket away this year. Next year though, next year. That trick concept ball is awesome, been hearing more good about them then bad, might just have to invest in one of them bad boys.
Awesome fire juggling man.

Awesome Richard! You seemed to have quite a bit of fire there. Was it still just rubbing alchohol?

The fire ball is not great but its the only thing out there right now that comes close to what a fire contact juggler needs.

Yeah, I soak the ball for a long time in order to get a brighter, longer burn. The wind put me out a couple of times, but the rain wasn't a problem. Still haven't timed a burn with this thing yet... maybe I'll go do that...

One thing I was trying to work out...
Image
was how to start a burn in a cool (and safe) way.
Well you just showed me the perfect prop to use.

On a different note that was fun, thanks for sharing.

Nicely done!

What are you using for fuel? Alcohol and water?

Just 70% isopropyl. Which is technically alcohol and water ;)
