I'd try to do a video showing some possibilities for enigma-variations but I cant get my webcam to do what I want it to do grrrrrrrrrrrrr...

since I had to reinstall it it wont except manual settings. I can do them but as soon as I hit "start capture" it goes back to auto settings which blurr up all quicker movements..... anyone have any advise on this? I already tried reinstalling all the software used on this...

Hutchie here it is, keep in mind this is not all the possible variations just the ones i could come up with at that moment, after uploading it i noticed it is kinda fast and harder to see the markings than i was hoping but let me know if it helps, and also if you have any more questions

Thanks GJ! There's a lot in there for me to start working on. I especially like the open-palm rotation one (1:25 I think) so I'll get straight onto that. I performed in front of my family for the first time the other day and they were well impressed! Couldn't have done it without your help.

Just a shout out to all the other .org jugglers - I'm not sure if you realise what a valuable learning resource grateful juggler (and ergo this thread) is. I've requested 3 or 4 tutorials from him and they've been posted on here within a couple of days. I'd like to see more people getting involved in this thread with requests for tutorials and/or tutorials of their own. It makes a world of difference to have your learning individually tailored to your needs, and at the end of the day we'll have a solid bank of up-to-date tutorials to transfer to the Wiki.

Get stuck in!
Thanks again grateful juggler.
H

I'd like to reserve a space to post an enigma variations video, I've stumbled on a couple that I haven't seen other people doing that I think have a nice look to them.

I'll tell you something I've found very helpful is learning enigmas in both directions, it opens up a few nice illusions.

Once I have some spare time towards late Feb I'll do a super mashupvid of the enigmas that I've been playing with. Although surely this is a contradiction in terms, you can't have more than one enigma, by definition alone...

I'll also add that having a nice light (and blemish free) stage ball is also very helpful. Acrylics aren't that good for freestyling your enigmas. Unless you're super strong.

Hello grateful!

I have here some beginners with me, all broke down in tears
wondering how many decades it takes to accomplish this
and the only thing I can get out of them is:
where did he bought that hat?

greetings
Halderon

The basic pattern has got to be like everything else - learn the stall, toss to the stall, then roll to the stall - but it's been quite a while, and I feel like I may be missing something - should I be trying to flatten out my arm as quickly as possible on the roll back - is there another strategy? Anyone have any hints?

That one was a son of a bitch for me to learn, much less be able to land it in the stall with any consistency.
The hardest part for me was remembering to lift that elbow up, instead of just folding the arm. After that, it's pretty much just experimenting with the angle, and how quickly you fold your arm down...
And after that, ironing out the balance, and slowing down the speed of the overall movement (which is the portion I'm at with it currently).

I know it's not much of an explanation, but hopefully it helps.

Grateful, i've always considered that move as a butterfly exchange.

you've got it down very smoothly :)

As a request, can you start your tutorials with the trick you're teaching!

sort of: 'today we are learning.....'

Nice bump Silver
I've made a couple of mini hint/tutorials recently to help people in chat using upload to youtube via webcam. Not as nice as a a properly edited/filmed one but still quite useful and quick.

Hey, the videos are really awesome. It definitely made the tricks much easier to understand.

Can you post one about chest rolls? It keeps going up and over my shoulders so I was wondering what I was doing wrong. I'm also having quite a bit of trouble figuring out the outside elbow stall. Any pointers on that too?
