Hi guys!

How do you avoid getting burnt when juggling in sunny weather? Maybe I just have a particularly clear acrylic (it's just a 95mm from home of poi...) but I get a burn literally after a second of the ball being still... As a result, the "ice-cream" burns me if I don't speed it up, and I can totally forget about stalls (even when I do a quarter-spin every second my head starts smokin...)

Any solutions?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I played around in the sun a bit and realized it's not even a problem, except for stalls, but that doesn't matter. Thanks a ton for your help!

You get used to it.

If its too much, find some shade or invest in a stageball.

I find UV clear acrylics have a nice blue shade in strong sun and don't burn as quickly cos well, they're not that transparent

Man up! I kid I kid, maybe try to avoid stalls, unless you move lots.

I tend to spin when I'm stalling in the sun.
Alternately get a coloured acrylic.

I do love my green one :)

I have black acrylics for sunny days.

No long stalls. Also, the tiny sun reflected on the surface of the acrylic is opposite the focal point, so if you cover that with your other hand you're fine.

Head for the shade! There is no way to make your ball any less of a burn-tastic-magnifier.

And if I remember correctly, Ryan once said that its actually bad for the ball to be put in that scenario as well.. apparently it can warp the ball.. So you, and your ball, may be better off in a shady location.

Aw, I like my blue balls! And the jokes they provide...

Really though, I haven't found a light or situation where my aqua acrylic hasn't looked good.

I agree with iMark - get a black ball if you really want to CJ in the sun - or a very very dark coloured acrylic.

As to 'getting used' to a clear - I plan on juggling for a good few years yet, and I can't believe having a focussed point of sunlight on your body can be good for you long term...
