This works exactly like the 1 ball follow the leader competition. Every Thursday I will choose the new leader, and we all have to copy the moves being done and then add our own move to the series.

It's not a competition to see who can do the hardest move to knock out the competition, it's purely just here to help people learn new moves with isolation batons. This is open to absolutely anyone, even if you've never posted on .org before! Just submit your video to join in

As the weeks go on there is no real need to keep doing four of each move, just some kind of proof that you've got the move down to a certain level.

This is the video we are following until Thursday 5th July 2012 :

Do the same moves as Pich, then add your own move to the end of the sequence. Simples!

Wow, This would be interesting. I have some and I'd definitely play just to help keep the game going. But I'd be brand new and messy but would do my best!

Eca, I've heard of this great, cheap brand of practice iso batons called "sticks." I think they sell at a pretty good price.

Sticks with plasticine balls is a good option

Glad there are a few peeps up for it. Anyone have any preferences as to how to play this? Anyone got any good ideas? Would anyone like to be the decision maker? I kind of like the idea of someone who's not taking part doing the choosing this week's winner stuff.

I was thinking it might be good to choose a move and do it four times, and allowing the reverse of any previously chosen tricks to be considered as an option when adding your own move to the series. I also think that whatever new move you choose should flow nicely from the previous one.

This could be fun. Are there any names for isobaton moves? Or is it all going to be "Same Spin clockwise > Isolate outside end counterclockwise" or would it just be "DO this then THAT" LOL

Either way I may have 4 acrylic rods waiting for me at home to start trying to make something with :D

That's a valid point, Cory. I've no answer to that...

I'm still confused at your comment, Ryan - you made it sound like it's a stupid idea, or have I just taken it the wrong way?

I have a pair of kids water batons with water balls at the ends. This could be interesting.

not at all, you guys are my heroes! i think it is awesome that you are diving into a new prop and learning this way, i'm just surprised that there is actually enough interest to sustain it. my life has been isobaton crazy for the last 3 weeks and now loads of you are jumping in as well... it's great

Phew, I can stop worrying about it :D I thought you might have thought it was a daft plan.

I'm completely hooked on batons at the moment, they come out with me on gigs now too. I was using a set in Oddballs yesterday and all the people in the shop stopped being tourists and started being an audience :D

I looked at Sennyo's method for doing the leader stuff and think I'll pretty much do the same thing.

I'll kick it off on Thursday then!

Not that your baton stuff isn't very lovely indeed (because it is!), but you can do the same thing with a variety of props. Face it Elsie, what ever "it" is, you've got it :)
