This is a hint that I am looking for said 'megaworkshops' that I can pay to learn more intense stuff. LOL! :D So if anyone wants to put together a MOM session- I'm in.

That said- the amount of workshops being offered this year at the BJC is amazing and I'm truly looking forward to it, there's such a great sense of fun in the BJC community. It's going to be great.

The lindy hop/ swing dance community has 2 kinds of events.
Dance Camps and Exchanges.

Dance Camp - lots of teaching, every one gets paid, (organsers and teachers), some people work for a free ticket, I go to these to get better at dancing, can be fun and challenging, are more expensive (£150-200).

Exchange - organised for the community, no one gets paid (except the bands, who are not part of the community), possibly the organising team will get a free ticket or t-shirt, not for profit, great fun and cheap. (£25-50).

Both are good. :D

I think its been very interesting following this conversation. Both sides have pretty valid points. I really hope that the prop/flow community at large can grow big and strong enough (And be willing!) to support BOTH of these kinds of events.

So yeah, there's this festival the week before RIT and I was wondering whether anyone would be attending. The info is here: http://www.facebook.com/events/235416269881827/

Doesn't seem like there's much info, or anything on places to stay, but getting in contact with them directly would probably help (if you have facebook).
I should be attending and would love to see some east coasters there :)
Also: RIT IS COMING UP! I hope the new englanders can get out to that!!!
