I just worked out how to use windows movie maker this week and as a learning tool i made a video of me trying to fit some contact to music. After watching myself i can see how i should practice in a mirror more, but since im not shy i've posted the video up on youtube to share with you all.

Ive been doing contact for about a year now and would really appreciate any feedback.

Its great man. Its slow, steady, easy to see eerything that you are doing. I would say experiment some more. You seem to love the isolations which look great, but add some rolls in there just to mix thing up.

I only saw the Prair wiper's, Mix it up some more. Add some arm rolls, every now and then, a couple stalls.

Or keep with what you have and add a second sphere into the routine for your iso's.

You are doing great. And I am very impressed.

indeed, I am very impress too.

I really like the shiny ending and your tempo -not too fast and not too slow-

You chose a very relaxing music, it's nice and peacefull to watch.

Practising in front of a mirror could be a good ideal to stabilize your isolation... you're almost there!!

Nice work

(and I smile once in a while could bring something interresting)

Hey it's Rare Bird, is that off the Erol Alkan Bugged in Selection? I practice to that a lot my self. I recommend for you three videos, Ed's nice-olayshuns http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpvflb4phcc

Colin's Ice-O-Relations http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOm4h4ZmxOY

And furet's Flower's video http://furetjongle.free.fr/buy-you-flowers.mp4

Hope they give you some isolation inspiration.

thank you all for watching, and for your comments.

Yea i should really put more moves in it to make it more interesting, the isolations are the newer moves that i have been trying to learn, and ive neglected older tricks.

that is Rare Bird from Erol Alkans album, the second CD is really chilled and really nice to practice to. (Erol is DJing in lincoln on the 30th, yay!)

I really like the Flowers video, more so because isolations look much better with clear balls i think and the song is just ace.

I spend most of my time standing far enough back to dodge the sunlight, but i love the effect when it hits the ball. I was trying to video a iso palmspin in it for a few tries earlier, but it never looked right.

Ill definitely put another video up soon and take all your comments on board when i make it. It may be a little while as ive strained my index finger, presumably acylic related =/

edit - I will also try smiling next time - i look a right mardy bugger!

That's a gorgeous color of acrylic too. Where you'd you get it?

No. I think that it was just a standard red.

The red ball im am using was bought for me, but i am 99% sure that it is one of the 85mm translucent polycarbonate balls from firetoys. It is just a standard red, but i have a strong beam of light that comes through my window next to my computer (where the webcam i used to film is placed)

One thing i love about a coloured ball is being able to use it outside in the sun. I am sure i am not the first person to think it would be a "nice idea" to go and play with their beautiful clear acrylic (aka solar amplification device) on a lovely summers day

Good stuff for only a year!

You could really benefit from a 100mm ball, it would suit your style.

From here I would start putting some work into how you are moving your body, not focusing on the ball so much. Keep the isolation going, but look at what your hands are doing instead of the ball. Fluidity is the key to making isolations beautiful.

Thanks for sharing yourself with us!

Hmmm, that came out wrong.

Cheers.
