Hi everyone. My name is Tiana, I am from the Island of O`ahu and I'm new to contact juggling. And yes I get hurt quite a bit . I used to practice with various things that never really worked to well (Stress balls, my pink magic 'date' ball), thank goodness I just got my first 3" acrylic contact ball a few days ago. I've been practicing and I pretty much got the butterfly down, kind of (I guess practicing with the eight ball might have helped since the contact ball is much much easier to use) I drop the ball all the time; its a good think I have carpet, but it mostly lands on my foot Lol. It doesn't even hurt when I crack myself in the head with the ball anymore I even threw the ball into the mirror by accident trying to practice in front of it. No I didn't break it. I showed my dad and my brother and they thought that the butterfly looked so easy that they wanted to try too. Of course they didn't get it. My dad dropped my ball on my door knob (lol, weirdo) and my brother dropped my ball right onto his sidekick and damaged the entire screen. He totally blamed me! I don't drop the ball anymore but I did throw it into the mirror again right before I wrote this post. I hope to learn a lot from you guys, Like: daily exercises to improve dexterity, and the best way to learn a few new tricks, and maybe how to not throw the ball into my mirror anymore, it scares me when I do that

Welcome welcome welcome to the land of expectations to the land of expectations to the land of expectations. We don't get many visitors these days. We certainly don't many visitors these days. What can I do for you? I'm the Whether Man.

...sorry as I was typing in a greeting I had a random flashback from a book I read in the sixth grade...
But really, welcome to the forum. It's great to meet you!

Hawaii! What a beautiful place to play. Could you get pictures of you with the ball there? Or even through the ball?

when i read the first message i thought that it was the same that happened to me...
my boyfriend, watching me do the butterfly for the first time, thought it was easy, and he was very angry when he realised that he wasn't able to do that...

and that's what happens with a lot of people..watching the butterfly they always think: "that's easy, i'm sure i can do it the same"... but then they realise it's harder than they thought.

(but this doesn't happen with body rolls)

Welcome to the forums.
I don't know what's worse, the people who don't get it and then decide that its stupid because they can't do it immediately, or the one's like my friend chris who did the butterfly in like an hour and then put the ball down and went, "yeah I guess that's neat"
I was all kinds of jealous GRRRR over that LOL.
for like 3 seconds. Then I just launched my Babache at his head.

Good thing I didn't have my acrylic at the time. It might have broken on his hard noggin

My brother says it looks like I'm on drugs. He told me "Who the hell would do that kind of stuff to a ball?" I was practicing some isolations at the time. I should practice on the bus now XD

I want a Babache!!

*Sighs* Time to put the ball down and study for the next midterm, tomorrow. Damn all these classes, and exams, and projects. Its keeping me from realizing my REAL dream: To become an ULTIMATE CONTACT JUGGLER!!!

*Kisses her ball goodnight before putting it away*

I hate studying but then again I have a pretty close to an eidetic memory, sometimes it comes in handy but then again, unlike most guys I can't just use the 'oh I forgot' excuse.

Everyone knows better by now. LOL
