Hey everyone im Anoiksis, I've started CJing since begin august this year. After seeing the german Alchemist do it at a celtic fair here I decided that I needed some of these practice balls. And so far I'm enjoying it bigtime! Shamefully I dont have as much time as I'd like, but the information here help alot as well.
Well, thats all for me in this topic
keep em rollin' ppl.

Hello,
I am new and from Florida, mid-east area. I am interested in learning, I currently have very little experience and want to learn, it's so cool. I have a pair of billiard balls that I can rotate in my hand very well, but I want more. Let me know if you have any tips.
Thanks,
Saucks |

Hi
I'm from England.
My main thing is diabolo but I turn my hand to most anything.
Played around with contact juggling and staff over the years and I'm currently getting the bug to get more into it hopefully as a personal thing rather than as something connected with my work.
I make my living doing juggling workshops, walkabout and performing.
I'm a hefty bloke and only approach something like gracefulness when I have 2 sticks in my hand and 2 diabolos on the string.
I'm involved with the leeds juggling scene and am currently arranging the show for the Leeds juggling convention. (8th of December since you asked). |

Not really Irish, not really British. My family are from Tyrone but I have spent most of my life since childhood living in England. I'd like to say Irish but get depressed at the thought of being called a plastic paddy so safe bet is to call me Englishish
I have always used the fada in real life and since I cant use it online all the time I use the underscore as well. There's another Sean from Canada who posts online a lot about diabolo (we both mod the diabolo.ca forum) so it has become a handy way of differentiating between us.

This probably explains it far better than I could.
Lets just say It's not something I wanted to get caught up in. _________________ Leeds Juggling convention: 8th December 07 |

mmmm seems a little bigoted to me, i do dislike the irish leprechaun stereotypes but if someone wants to ascociate themselves with ireland espeacaly if they have some kind of ancestry or link no matter how tenuous then i see it as a form of flattery for our nation. i have a lot of cousins in england and while their upbringing was english i see them as both english and irish, though nationality doesnt really matter in the scale of things its nice to identify with a culture, be proud of both your heritages and if anyone calls you a plastic paddy, call them a bigot cos thats what they are.
wow that was really ranty _________________ skyhooks |

Hello seán, tell me is it true that Bar Phono in Leeds has closed down? what a...tragedy? maybe not.
Anyways there are a few contact jugglers around the north west including me when I go down near the end of December. I call for a christmas meet-up. _________________ Now all gatherymost to amuse it and have a tilty elbow or a nice cuffle-oteedee - Oh Yes!

Hi Porcubrine It's gone, Basement as well (not that I had any dealings with either).
North west meet sounds nice. Also if you hit the UK (and Europe) juggling convention scene we're bound to bump into each other. _________________ Leeds Juggling convention: 8th December 07 |

i've been thinking about writing this post for a couple of days... (i couldn't sleep about that!!! (now i'm exagerating!!!) )
i've joined this forum in september, but i didn't introduce myself, and i feel a little rude because of that. so i do it now.
i'm 25, from milan, my name's Carlotta (but i know that it's hard for a non-italian speaker to say that, so call me Charlotte, it's the same thing).
i've been CJing for 7 years, but not everyday, more like a couple of months every year, mostly in summer, so everytime i had to start again from the basics.
but now i'm determined to learn, and i found this forum VERY useful, and (some) people here are wonderful CJers and very nice persons!!!!
thank you for all your help!
a question:
i can do a few body rolls, but i have a VERY BIG problem with the inner elbow stall, i saw that even my father can do it, but i can't.
my bone has a stupid shape.
the question is:
it might be that the shape of my arm prevent me from doing the inner elbow stall?
and if so, are there any solutions?
(i'm leaving tomorrow, and i'll be back in january.. so i'll meet you again next year!!! (i'm a little disappointed that i won't be able to join the Xmas tradition)) |
