I've got one of those rigid, heavy practice balls. The seam is pretty obvious to look at, which doesn't bother me, but it's also a bit rough with small bits sticking out, which feels a little irritating and is really noticable after a while when I'm practicing palm circles. Anyone got any tips for smoothing the seam down a bit? I'm pretty sure that sandpaper would be bad for the finish of the ball.

I dunno, they look pretty hard. If they're solid, closer to plastic, you could probably just use really fine sand paper..

1 It aint rubber (whatever they say!)
2) yep its a bit poo, but don't worry about it, its a practice ball, and if you use it for a couple of months that seam will fade a lot anyway. I'll go and speak to the manufacturer and see if we can get it reduced.
Actually it would help a lot of anyone who has bought one of these and thinks it would be better without the visible seam, to tell the shop that they bought it form, the message will get back to the manufacturers

Sweet sweet love.

But that's not me; I'm less anime-ish.
