I found this site on making acrylics with a casting resin:

http://nashvillebirthpartners.com/mbb/juggling/acrylicballs.html

Don't go monkey on me yet.

So, the problems with casting clear acrylics are obvious- any bubbles or slight imperfections readily show in the finished product. I'm thinking about making an opaque ball. That way, it doesn't matter if there are (hopefully small) bubbles in the ball, they won't be seen (unless, of course, they're on the surface, but those can be touched up). Andy mentions in the site that acrylic paint works.

With that said, any ideas about polyester or vinyl casting resin? It's much cheaper, but also more toxic. I haven't been able to find a comparison on the densities of poly vs. acrylic yet, so I don't know how this would affect the weight. Ideas, suggestions?
