 CJC Competition
Author: Chico

Welp, I have been mulling over it for a while, and I have come to the conclusion that I must applaud Rich's descision to not hold a Competition at this year's CJC. I was schedueled to compete in the CJC (Ferret where's my damn shirts! :) ), however due to the Sept 11th events the airline I was flying went out of business, and I was unable to attend. I had really been looking forward to competing at the time, but now I believe I may not have competed after all. This is, above all, an art, and we have here a community, what purpose will it serve to bestow any sort of order of skill on people? I think this may be a neutral thing at best, and possibly negative. I am very competitive by nature, but I don't feel the need to outdo anyone here, only to help them grow, and have them help me grow. I applaud you you Rich, and I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of event you will create to replace the competition.

It's not about probability, but possibility.
