Welcome to the site my friend, I'm pretty new here too. I just thought I would add to oct's advice by saying, if your going to practice on your bed with your legs crossed, put a pillow on your lap to protect your ankle bones. I know it sounds crazy, but trust me a bruised ankle bone is a pain you don't want.

Haha that sounds so awesome because I'm sitting right now on my bed with my legs crossed! :D but thanks for saying this - I'll remember your advice!

Here again.. waiting my ball. :) I was thinking that how does it feel to touch an acrylic ball? I already knew it's plastic but just wanted to know does it feel like plastic and is its covering very good for CJ'ing? 8) It looks like it is but these are just questions by person who has never touched a CJ ball.

Also, what are these "DotOrg bonus points"?
    Thanks for elucidating me! 8)

    Alex

Welcome to the site. I'm relatively new here too, i've been here about a month now so i can say about being a beginner.

Acrylics don't feel sticky or very grippy at all like normal plastics might. A good comparison might be a smooth ruler. It feels like that only spherical.

Moves to learn and how long - I love doing isolations as opposed to doing body rolling. The two are very different subjects and you kind of want to decide which you'll be more dedicate to doing before you start. That doesn't mean you can't do both, however it would mean you would have to spend a lot of time doing both. The simplest move which remains visually stunning is the enigma. There's many variations of the enigma and its a very useful trick to amaze people walking by. Palm isolation is definitely something you should start doing as soon as you can as it takes a LONG time to get the hang of but is definitely the most impressive trick to see. I would advise going to the moves section of this site - http://contactjuggling.org/wiki/ind ... _tutorials and just deciding what you'd like to learn.

As for the bonus points... I have no idea!

Have fun juggling, can't wait to see your first video :D

The bonus points are awarded quite randomly, for any reason that a moderator decides to use, in any amount, and can be subtracted. I forget the number, but n #of bonus points is good for one free doughnut from iMark (Reedemable in RL only)

Dew Drop: Thank you so much! :) I will remember all that and read it again when I receive my ball.. Though it's a christmas present for me that I ordered myself. :D But what do you think.. should I start making a video blog from Day 1 when I start CJ'ing? Could it be interesting and make a video like every month..? But thanks again!

    eca: Thanks for telling :)

I would advise perhaps giving it a week before making a video, that way you can talk about what you've found difficult, what you enjoy etc.

Look around the video section of the site for some inspiration that's my advice!

I agree with DewDrop that probably wait a week before making your first video. I think a month is a good amount of time between each new video log, but it's really all up to you on how often you want to release a video, but a video log would be really cool. You get to see personally how much you improve over time and other people do too.

Okay, so I'll make the first video log on New Year's Eve :) And happy December for everyone! 8) December is very special for me, christmas and my birthday.

In Finland we use advent/christmas calendars, but ALSO a TV calendar for children days 1-24, check it out. You will have a good laugh! 8)
    Day 1 (1st of December)
