I've had these batons for two weeks now, trying to catch up with everyone, can barely keep up let alone add new moves, but I really want this FTL to keep going, I've learnt so much already...

(I know, should have pointed the camera higher, I'll keep that in mind next week).

Is that a 9 pointed box I have attempted? I hope it's clear enough to see what I was aiming for, it seems like a great exercise to get used to isolating all the main points

Wicked, welcome aboard! Ah, that familiar metallic clunk when those batons hit each other :D

The deadline for week 12 had actually passed, but I vote that we extend it another week in celebration of a new arrival to the game! That way I don't end up being the default choice.

So if that's cool, we're still all submitting 12 moves until Thursday, and when I manage to fire up my computer I'll edit the post all proper like. Congasious, you still get to choose the move we all have to include!

I'm just uploading to YouTube a very sloppy submission.
Only been playing with them properly for 3 weeks!

Sov, I'm really glad you jumped in, especially at the level things have got to! Some of your moves were done in the wrong direction but I think we can overlook that - at this point we need to decide once and for all, is direction relevant or is just doing the move more important?

I thought your submission for the new move was quite ambitious though, and quite technical!

Well I've been watching and trying to catch up for so long I thought sod it, jump in. Working on flow is hard enough, I love the spin/anti-spin move after the straight line windmill.
My submission got a bit messy from what it was in my head, I've clarified it for myself so I can submit it again in the future :)

i think that direction is not so important... i say anyone can choose the direction that suit him.

after watching the 2 new submissions i feel like saying a few things about this ftl thing going on here but i will do that after tomorrow that i will be back at my house.
keep your batons busy and accurate :D

Ok,
Here is my submission this week... Action Reaction : I do alternatively with the right hand an antispin 1-1 then a spin-spin 1-1 with the left hand.

No reason at all for feeling nervous on .org FTL :D This is all about exchanging ideas and ways to explore this new prop, and so far it goes very well i say (at least i have learned a few new things and also happy to share some of my thoughts) :D

I am excited about both Soveda's and Tom's submissions. Both patterns are complicated and really hard to do, and they gave me some food for thought as well as a challenge to try doing them :D
What i wanted to say is that:
1. I prefer suggesting easier and not very long moves so that everyone can understand what is going and all people in this chamber can follow. The combinations are unlimited and we can keep this FTL going on for very long (i can see it ending to a 4-5 minute routine by the time it ends :D) so if we put many difficult things in here it will be really hard to remember and follow. I am not saying this to discourage new suggestions and hard things - on the contrary i love to see new things! maybe i will not vote for them but for sure i will study them.

2. Baton spinning as graphic manipulation works better when the fix points, lines and all shapes created are as clean as possible so easier and short moves also make it work better. It is great to explore new and hard patterns but the visual effect will not work unless these things are accurate enough. I am not criticising the accuracy of your batons, i know that some people practice only a few weeks with them! i just say focus on accuracy is more important than trying hard patterns (at least when starting playing with these objects)

Now that i read again what i just wrote i may be completely wrong... though i will post these thoughts as Soveda was a bit nervous about my previous post and had to explain.. sorry mate, never meant to make you nervous :D
So, as i said in the beginning, this FTL is about learning new things so we just feel free to suggest whatever we want and have fun in here.

I will try to find some time to make a short video for next week's submissions and will vote later tonight!

@Pich: your action reaction is way cool!

I think the interesting thing is how a lot of the complicated submissions have been by novices who don't know how hard what they (we) are attempting is!
I have simplified/streamlined the move as it looks on my head and I may post it up on its own for information.
You guys are fab!

Edited to add:
Here you go

Thinking about it, it would work well if you went through each "quadrant"...

Must stop complicating things!
