UPDATE:

Voting Closed! Aether Arts won for the second year in a row and still holds the coveted dotorg bragging rights for another year!

Thank you to everyone who was able to participate and it was great to see the effort everyone put in, even at the last minute.

I guess I will go ahead and get this in place for those who are joining in the fun.

Here is the thread for this year's competition: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=10623&start=0

iMark said it best:

Once the closing date arrives, a poll will begin to choose the winning video. The winning group will be bestowed the much coveted cj.org bragging rights.

You can see the previous entries here: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=9679&start=45&hilit=Hogmanay

Now, grab your crews and get to it people!

We will follow the rules previously set. I'm not a moderator and don't have the power to pull the fancy stuff that iMark did last year when he took charge. So instead, we shall do this!

1. SAVE YOUR SPOT on this first page RIGHT NOW if you are competing at all! When your video is complete and up to view, edit your post and add your video immediately!

2. We have a little bit of a more open deadline this year due to the smaller amount of crews able to compete this year. You can begin to post your battle video submission on the evening of Thursday, Sept 22 (since this equals midnight in London). You have until the clock strikes midnight on Sunday night in your part of the world to get your video submitted to this thread.

3. Voting opens Monday morning- Sept 26. Everyone can vote! Vote for your favorite video! Any video that is posted after the poll goes up in this thread can still be viewed but will not be eligible for voting.

4. Voting will stay open for almost one week. That is a little longer than last year and gives everyone more time to check dotorg, view the submissions and vote. The last day to vote will be Sunday, Oct 2nd. Whoever has the most votes at the time the poll closes is the winner.

5. Prize - You win the most ultimate of dotorg coolness - Bragging rights for the entire year! You get to hold the winning spot all the way till next year's battle comes around. WOW! :D

*Note - The purpose of this challenge is to get people to collaborate together and have fun making awesome videos. The more submissions, the better! Everyone who submits wins with having a new video to spread around...but only one crew gets the ultimate prize!!!! If you were unable to make it in time this year, come back with a bang next year! Never too early to start planning and we look forward to you joining us. ALL are welcome to this competition. :D

Here it is! This is Aether Arts' battle video. We had to pull this together sort of last minute but we put in all the effort that we could given our circumstances. We hope you guys like it. Check out the "spoiler" also. :D Thank you Bri for spending some real hours at the last minute heading up editing this together.

Spoiler:
Last year, I included an extra few seconds clip in my post of our video. I wanted to do that again this year. When we were editing, this was in the extras. Bri was asking Riel to stand there so he could line up the camera. hehe Sorry, Riel. ^_^

Good luck to everyone!!

EDIT: And we sure did!

...Vulcan here. Now Vancouver and Edinburgh better muster at least :)

What about a Great Lakes crew, someone should make that.

This idea has been floating around for a little while I think. We just need someone to get the ball rolling :rolling: , all puns intended and necessary

They conquered distance, thousands of miles of coax and fibreoptic cable, illness, dot org being down and (in my case) lack of talent to come together.
Now: Bow beneath the might that is the FTL Krewe :stack: :ball:

Was that OK? I'm no good at trash talking

P.S. sorry there's so much of me in it but I had the most footage (ego much?)

Yay, Richard and FTL crew! I'm thinking Edinburgh may be up to something too...mainly because BrianO posted that mysterious " :D " lol

Is there a mod/admin who could please sticky this topic for the time being?? That would really help. THANK YOU!

when is the deadline?
I won't have time now (neither camera) but I can tell my friends here in Brazil. It's possible that they like the idea.
