At the moment I have some stock that I don't want to put out at full price as I'm not as confident as I'd like to be regarding durability. These were the first batch of acrylic rod batons that I made and were intended for Oddballs but I've kept them back.

I think the impact resistant glue that I used has slightly weakend the acrylic rod where it joins to the ball. I've had one accidental break and one on purpose break, and both times the rod has snapped inside the ball. On both occasions the rod has been glued back together, and as it was on the inside of the ball you just cannot tell that it had ever broken. These batons are all really gorgeous to look at, and do exactly what isolation batons should do, but you really don't want to drop them onto a hard floor. They are fine on carpet, but will more than likely break on anything hard. Also, the likelyhood of being able to glue them back together without leaving any visible marks is very good, I'm quite confident the only weak spot on the rods is inside the ball.

The next batch will have slightly smaller lighter balls and use glue designed for use on acrylic, so this problem should be eradicated in the future.

I'd also like to say the batons with the aluminium rods have been repeatedly dropped onto nasty concrete surfaces without any real damage, so if you are a beginner then I'd be opting for these ones
The balls are very high quality and very solid. They are also the same colour all the way through, so if they do get scratched on concrete the scratch barely shows up. I've yet to have one break, but that's not to say they won't ever break. I've held them up high and dropped them on a cobbled street from every possible angle, even directly on their ends, and still have not had any problems.
I would really recommend treating these like your favourite acrylic balls though, it's always better to be safe than sorry!

Here's a quick video of the stock I have at the moment. I've included the aluminium "Element" version in the video but these are not really on any special rates, more just there for you to see them all side by side. I've got a full range of colours in stock of Elements except for the blue ones.

The batons are all 500mm from end to end except the larger one that is pointed out in the video, which is 510mm.

The balls are all 45mm diameter except the one larger one, which is 48mm.

The aluminium rod version, "Element", weighs 200g per baton.

The acrylic rod version, "Lithium", weighs 220g.

The slightly larger pair are indeed 270g as I'd guessed in the video. In my opinion the heavier ones seem slightly easier to isolate as most of the weight is in the balls, but they are quite tiring on your arms and hands if used for longer periods. My personal preference is the Element batons, I really like the weight of these. There is enough weight on the balls to use their momentum to help with isolating, but light enough to use for ages. They are also very rigid, whereas the acrylic rods have a small amount of flex to them.

Regarding the acrylic rods, "Lithium", I only have what you see in the video in stock, and once they are gone they are gone! You only see one of each pair in the video, you will receive two identical batons.

These would normally retail at £45 +P&P, however, these are all at £30 per pair, plus P&P. I will only charge what it costs me to pack and post them. Prices for Europe/USA/Japan will be posted here later on today.
The slightly larger pair are only £25 for the pair plus P&P.

There are no returns on these batons, I've been completely up front about my fears and only recommend them to people already quite skilled with them or to people who will learn over their beds until they are brave enough to take them out of the bedroom. They should be okay over soft grass too.
For what it's worth, I was new to batons only 3 months ago. I only dropped them a few times in the early days, and now I just don't seem to drop them at all. Granted I'm quite blessed with coordination so don't take it as gospel that the same will be true for you!

Either leave a reply in this thread or send me a PM if you want a pair, or any more info.

Batons, anyone?

:D

Cool, cheers Cory.

The clear acrylics with red balls are spoken for

Postage will be something like this :

UK £4.00
Europe £8.00
USA/Japan £12.50

This is for one pair, if you want multiples then at a rough guess it will be £2.50 per pair extra for UK and Europe, and £3.00 per pair for USA and Japan. This is based on the leaflet I've just picked up from the post office so should be quite accurate, but if there are any discrepancies I'll be sure to let you know before I post anything.

And if anyone is interested in the alu "Element" ones, £25 per pair plus P&P!

Quick update, Fathom also available with orange rods, metallic silver or gold, and the much requested bright green! Photos later next week.

Still no bright green or orange balls though...

I'm just going to say, the breakages I've had so far haven't involved any of the clear acrylic rod versions. With this in mind I just spent five minutes repeatedly dropping one of the clear batons onto our very hard kitchen floor and no damage was sustained whatsoever :D

They're still at £30 though. Brown, green, blue, white still available, and the heavier white ones too!

Plenty of Elements in most colours available for shipping, all at £25 +P&P!

Having just gone through all the receipts it turns out that the breakages I've had were all using extruded acrylic rods. These batons on sale (except for the white rods/red balls version) are all using cast acrylic, and I'm considerably more confident of their durability.

They're still £30 though

Now available, smaller balls and lighter batons:

38mm ball, 150g per baton. I think these are my favourite so far with regards to useability, still heavy enough to isolate with ease but light enough to avoid pain during extended play
£40 per pair plus P&P.

I am also going to do an intermediate version, 41mm ball, approximately 180g per baton sometime soon. As if there aren't enough decisions for you to make already eh...

Just so you can get a better idea of how these look and feel, the balls look just like shiny opaque acrylics but are denser and heavier.

I'm just looking at getting some clear one piece solid acrylic versions made too, but they won't be cheap... Somewhere in the region of £90 per pair I'm guessing. I can also get totally UV acrylic versions but the material alone is going to cost £70 before they get machined, so they would be more like £130 per pair once they're finished. I'm not sure that is really viable tbh.
