About a year ago, Brine challenged me to make my own set of Acrylic Batons. Yeah, took me awhile to get to it. Sorry about that Brine. I didn't forget though!

This is the first pair that I made today. They are kinda skinny but the ends really have some weight to them so they really work great!

I have another pair I'm in the middle of working on. They will be thicker more like Moon's - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_WjDOqVLvY And ends will be silver metal balls. BUT they are a little different. I will post pics when I get those done.

Of course, this is going to take me FOREVER to be able to be good enough to really do anything with these. So, maybe in a few years I'll have something good to show for it. Gotta get started sometime though!

Can I request an admin to move this thread to the "Other props" section since it would be very helpful there :D (I know I am reviving an old thread).

O and Senn I had forgotten about this, really awesome job. I finally found something for me to use until I get around to making an acrylic pair.

Okay, I got the other stuff in the mail that I need to make the other ones. The first ones are okay but these are MUCH better and much more like the ones that are in videos.

As you can see here, I made the set with the white balls a little shorter than the silver. I wanted to make these all a little different to be able to experiment....to see what I would like best over time. These will be the main ones I play with. 1/2 inch diameter on the acrylic.

CJO- Oh wow! Thanks. just saw this. I was like Whaaat? when I saw this appear again. lol

These ones with the white balls on the ends....I gave to Bri back in October. He's performing with them tomorrow night. :D I kept the Silver ball end ones for myself. I still really like them though I haven't focused on iso baton because of the 5 million other props I'm working on. XD At least it feels that way sometimes.

They are quite nice. Where did you get the acrylic rods from? Did you have to special order them?

I've seen them at ACE hardware. Each ACE is different, so I would check a larger store. ACEs will also special order, they have HUGE catalogs.

Yes, I just got the rods from ebay. But I'm sure you likely could find them somewhere around you and save the shipping. It did take me awhile to find good ends that actually work. find the ends FIRST because this will tell you the size of acrylic rod you need. I think Dizz is correct about Ace Hardware. I just don't have one of those by me where I am.

Hey sennyo, I got a question. what are the weights you used at the end of the silver, and white Iso batons? I'm not sure but I have an idea, I just want to confirm it.

They are the things that go on the ends of curtain rods. They are called Finials. For example -http://thecurtainrodshop.com/drapery-hardware/finials.aspx?gclid=COvygNGsyKsCFaUCQAodPg992Q

Very hard to find ones that will work. You have to find ones that would make sense to be the right size and ones that can somehow connect onto the acrylic rods. I searched various stores. Eventually found these in a curtain store. You have to find the ends first to know what size acrylic rod to get. Good luck with the search!
