Hey guys,

I'm not sure if this thread is the right place, but I have advises to seek for a possible performance.

I've just decided to audition for "Cabaret Danse Macabre" which is a dark fusion bellydance show with an Halloween theme (and non bellydance stuff is welcomed).

I'd like to make a routine with dance and cj with me being a ghost :)

Do anyone has good suggestions for ghost-like music? Suggestions of moves that'll fit well for this theme? (I'm sure to include lots of isolations and mis-leading)

The auditioning ends the first of august (and I'm VERY slow at making routines), so a little push in a direction will be appreciated to start working on it.

Thank you!

Its not "Ghostly" per say, but I would say its haunting, and its got a nice smooth feel if you are looking for that in your performance.

10 dotorg bonus points restored to Oct for Zoe Keating.

I'd also recommend another of Saint-Saëns most famous compositions:

hum... hum....

you guys have good ideas, thanks. I was thinking to maybe find something in Émilie Simon's March of the Emperor or Portishead...

I like the one Octavo linked.

iMark, I think it's impossible to think of doing a ghost without this song :D

Thank C.J.O., the song is good but I'd like something more ghost then haunting :) I decided I wanted to do a sad ghost.

sigh... picking the right music is the most important in a routine. but it's so hard! Thanks to all of you.

My suggestion:

A bit long, though, so you may have to cut it short.

The Mysterons would be good if you are looking at Portishead. Also maybe some Evanescence tracks, they are all gothic really. What kind of music are you after? Classical, a song with lyrics, something with a beat but no voice?
Here's some random stuff anyway, I don't really use 'songs' myself but first Tomas Dvorak (many from this album is quite interesting- more soundscapy):

Tipper (nice beats): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45jtYJBP9pE

They are random as my music is random but really anything with a musical saw in it is very good. Soundscapy stuff is great for putting a routine together- I often get clues for moves from sounds and beats.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone :)

Just to let you guys know that the deadline for the audition were the 1st of august and... I've been chosen!

I'm very happy, the show will take place on the 8th of october, so shortly after that I might have footage to post ^.^ I have to ask if I'm allowed to put it public on the internet (I think so... I'll ask to make sure)

yeah! Now... practice, costume making and more practice.

Royalty free music, so you don't get in trouble for borrowing someone else's music. It's good stuff, I CJ a lot to this. they even have a 'haunting' category.

did I mention it's FREE and LEGAL? :D
