Boredom in class can lead to great ideas, is it possible to isolate:
A pen/pencil or even a DRUMSTICK?

How would someone go about attempting these isolation?

drumsticks have brands on the side of them, would this ruin the effect at all?

I would imagine drumsticks would look somewhat similar to the sticks Okotanpe uses at 1:30 onwards in this vid...

But I like this concept a lot... we should have a competition similar to follow the leader where people are challenged to isolate odd objects. Could be a lot of fun. :)

Also you can check the work of Jive Faury, one of the artists featured on the "In Isolation" DVD...

His work with sticks is awesome !

Here is his youtube channel...

...and there you can see the promo clip for II dvd.

I would think that isolating a drumstick would be the same basic motion as staff iso's...my buddy is awesome at double staff and does a lot of 'em. :)

I often find my self isolating pencils and pens during class... and even doing little iso/antispin hybrids with them. In a pinch I some times try cellphones, as Orphan has seen. Other than that I've tried pumpkins, beer bottles, my cats (only one of them will let me do this), syringes (I'm a nursing student), stethoscopes.... pretty much anything I pick up I'll try to isolate.

and I love this video for isolations... and the not isolations.
