It seems the Fushigi Ball does not have a Wiki.... That would be a way to say whatever you want wouldn't it?

Yes, however, anyone can edit wikipedia.... Meaning John (or one of his minions) can change the page to say whatever it is they'd like.

i'm just gonna post this here, so i don't start another fushigi thread. i think we should have 1 thread for all fushigi related topics/things.
anyone else agree?

here's my opinion on all of this.
1.) i believe in contact juggling as an art. i have an opinion about what i affectionately give the name "artistic evangelism" i give it this name for a few different reasons:
-it's somewhat a playful hyperbole. kind of like a businessman calling his work laptop his "bible" or someone calling something they love, like a treadmill or grill their sanctuary. but there is some seriousness to it.
-evangelism is not done right through mass media, or at least not in this fashion. (i am Christian, so this will be my example.) in my brother's Popular Science magazine, i like to read the classifieds (some are hilariously ridiculous.) but whenever i see some huge red letters saying things like: "THE GOVERNMENT IS ENFORCING THE MARK OF THE BEAST" OR "IT SAYS IN THE BIBLE THE WORLD WILL END IN MAY OF 2016 SO BUY A BIBLE OR YOU'RE GOING TO HELL" (which, if you don't know, it doesn't mention the date at all, and these, while not verbatim, are REAL ads i've seen.) I ashamed for the rest of us, because mass media (done in this way, i'll get to this later) gives people the wrong idea about it, who aren't really educated in the thing being advertised. it is much less obnoxious, more appropriate, and more effective when advertising the opportunity. e.g. "Interested in the bible? get info here: [phone or website]." this provides for the interested people, and lets uninterested people look past it without thinking about how obnoxious they are. fushigi has done the big red letters here.

mass media and commercialization of art is bad for another reason: it gets competitive in the wrong sense. whether its with other businesses, but most often its with yourself, competing against yourself for how much you can make, how big you can go. even if it's not your intention, it's highly likely to happen. whether or not it was REALLY john's intention or not, that's another discussion.

in my honest opinion, i think art should be spread in the same kind of way religion is (WHEN DONE PROPERLY.) interested people can get more information through this. instead of yelling "FUSHIGI! MAGIC! FLOATY! EVERYONEEEEEE!!!!!" and actually demonstrating the product. think of this like a commercial for bowflex vs. a commercial for a gym membership. (even though it's not as bad as what we're experiencing, it's a heavily watered down version of this.) a bowflex ad will talk about how you'll be so ripped, yet that comes with diet, a regular and intensive workout routine, and LOTS of time (which they only vaguely brush on in a commercial), yet a gym shows the gym a place that has all the tools you need to get better, like a personal trainer, a diet coach, and everyones favorite, a juice bar, while a bowflex has maybe a dvd showing workouts or a piece of paper with crude diagrams. if they set up workshops, or even did just a product tour(like go around to toy stores or news channels), even if they still called cjing fushigi, the damage wouldn't be NEARLY as bad.
astrojax (attached juggling) kind of experienced this, even though it did invent it, many people were dissapointed, because it wasn't marketed as well as it could have been. they just kinda shouted "ASTROJAX! YEAH!" while showing a few tricks. they actually did do a product tour around the world, but the "face" (my "internet friend" myc wyse) was heavily censored, basically just spinmaster's words out of his mouth (he's still plagued and angry about this). and thus, it was REALLY popular for a little while, then almost fell off the face of the earth.

whew. i kind of talked in circles, and while these weren't the best analogies, hopefully you understood what i was trying to convey. while i haven't busked and gotten an f word, i still can only imagine how heartbreaking it is, and want just as much as you all for this to blow over. but i will say one last thing to sum this all up.

tl;dr mass media is not good for this. you don't advertise the ART itself, you advertise the OPPORTUNITY to learn it..

also, i'm not justifying anyone or anything. we all know WHAT went wrong, this is just my hypothesis why.

I remember the first time someone asked me if i was "fushiging" i thought it was going to be an isolated thing...thinking "Oh that commercial is only on cartoon network and no one will ask me about fushigi againe." That was in August and I have no idea what an impact fushigi would have. Not I can't go anywhere with out people ask me about my fushigi... Sometime I get so frustrated of so many people asking me in one day i just want to scream to the whole world "IT'S NOT FUCKING FUSHIGI!!!!" but as a resonable human being i corect them very calmly. No matter how raged i am on the inside.

I was playing with my acrylic on the lawn at my college and i had a woman ask me how the ball worked, I told her "It's just a ball, there's nothing different about it." She got so mad i thought she was going pop a vessle. She said back to me "YOU MEAN I SPENT $20 FOR MY NEPHEW ON A REGULAR BALL?!? UNBELIEVABLE!!!" Jesus lady, yes because the first thing the United States government is going to do when they develop anti-gravity technology is put it in a fucking ball and sell it to kids... SUCK MY BALLS FUSHIGI!

Don't forget, it's not her fault, she was lied to.

I know it's not, but it still doesn't make it any less frustrating for us as contact jugglers. I wish WE could have at 30 second slot on TV about what contact juggling REALLY is.

We should start a fund. :) I would love to do this. We could make the video nearly free, if we made it & sent it around, we could actually do this. (I'm away over the next 2 months, however)

Also, I would love to start a mass complaints to the BBB campaign too.
Anyone want to do this?

She was lied to. That part isn't her fault.

The bit that's her fault is that, when told, "This is an anti-gravity ball," she believed it. This shows a total lack of critical thinking.

No no, I understand your frustration. Just an observation

There are way more amazing technological things happening in this world, so no, it does not.
For instance, when my friend first told me that her Dad sent people mail through his computer, I said "you can't do that, that's impossible"

Show's what I knew.

She was lied to, it's not her fault. Any responsibility given to her is misdirected away from the true liars, The Amazing Kenny, John Cammarano, and the ZOOM TV Product company. She was lied to and mislead to believe that this ball floats, and that is not her burden to bear. The commercial and the website both claim it does, and our laws claim that advertising cannot be false.
