Lol @ bananashigi :D That's a sweet move, Ryan. I'll be playing with that later when I'm back at BJC, thanks!

Riel and I filmed our first submissions at the Vulcan but were then unable to get them online while still on the west coast. Now back home and looking forward to playing. Unsure if we will be able to get in submissions this week. Next week for sure! So glad this is happening

Only one day to go, anyone else gonna jump in? I'm going to try and get something done at my gig tonight.

That "Clocks" move is screwing with my brain :D

I may not get in this week, my batons need glue for them to continue to function in the manner that they have been...I will try

I'm so pleased I started this thread! Here's me thinking I'm being quite good with my batons, now I realise there's a really long road ahead of me... Batons are most definitely my fave prop right now.

I've just done another gig at the Chelsea Champions League match tonight, so I made a pair of blue batons this morning as I figured the red ones I usually use wouldn't have gone down too well! The eightrings are going down really well, better than the batons actually...

Hey everyone. I finally managed to make myself a decent pair of batons for this. I spent last night working on getting used to them. Ill be entering in the next couple days! Sorry for the delay!

Excellent, looking forward to you joining in Cory!

Hokey cokey, this week's winner is..... Pilolip! It's the obvious choice as it flows perfectly from Grateful's move last week. It's more or less the full circle version of the same move.

I will update the first post, and include some notes on how to acheive the moves with relative ease while keeping the accuracy going.

Here's the one to follow, folks!

Notes (from the performer's perspective, not the viewer's)

Move 1 - Both batons clockwise - Smooth movement, well isolated balls, both hands making perfect circles right next to each other.

Move 2 - Use the horizontal line that the batons create at the end of move 1 as a base line, and do not let any part of the baton go below it.
Bring batons up to meet each other in the middle, then back down to base line again. Your hands draw a quarter circle each, making a semi circle.
If you are doing this correctly, on the move up to the middle you should find a ball naturally isolates itself on the left hand baton, then on the way down it will be on the right hand baton. At the same time, on the way up to the middle, on the right hand baton a ball will travel in a straight line upwards above to iso'd ball, and likewise on the way down, a ball will travel straight downwards on the left hand baton.

Move 3 - When I first saw this, after I'd stopped salivating I tried to analyse what was happening. I got all muddled when I was watching the balls, so I watched Pilolip's hands instead, and there was my answer - it was the same move as Grateful's except with the bottom part of the pattern added. If you watch his hands you'll see that they are both doing a semi-circle each, thus making a full circle.
Do the same thing making the 'base line' horizontally, and when you do the top part, don't go below it, and when you do the bottom part, don't go above it.

I've added that box move that I'm hoping is called "The Box".

yup, that's the box! and for the pattern analysis what you do is: parallel spin, 4 times a quarter of spin-spin with a fix point and every quarter you complete you are changing the starting point.
This is getting interesting! Hopefully I will post a move later today ^^

Ha ha, that move Pilolip did was what I was originally going to do, I'd recorded it and everything!

I don't know what level everyone is at with their batons, if the level advances too quickly it will stop people from joining in. What is the general consensus here? While I'm absorbing the techy stuff like the proverbial sponge, my intention with this competition was that it would be inspiration for newcomers to pick up a new prop and give it a shot, but unless everyone joins in with moves they are comfortable with then we'll carry on advancing at quite a fast rate.

Input and thoughts would be most helpful to me at this moment!

On a personal note, I can't thank you guys enough for joining in with this, could you just give Okotanpe a nudge as he's not put his submission in yet

I think this move has a name and is bouncing boxes. This is a bit advanced i think but once Elsie suggested boxes already i go for this one as i think it fits good with the previous move :)
Yo!
