(Sorry Lapwing! I just couldn't wait any longer. I have to get up early for work. Thanks for trying your best and I hope you're having a great birthday!!)

Great job on getting submissions in this week! I know weeks go by real fast some times. This one really seemed to fly by. On days that I can push back the winner announcement till later, I will. I never know if I can or not until the day gets here.

This week's winner is: Cory O with the Finger Flurry Isolation Variation. (wow, you really snuck in with that one at the last minute!)

Congrats Cory!

Here is a little bit about what goes into choosing moves:
So there are different reasons that moves get picked on different weeks. You may happen to submit a move that was submitted by someone else a couple weeks ago. If you win with the move that week, it just means that due to the super, ultra fantastic secret formula of the week's winner, that move got chosen for some specific thing on that particular week. For some reason, that move, for whatever reason, fit into the routine so nicely at that point. OR it could be that it has a learning purpose. OR builds off of something else...etc, etc, etc. So many little factors go into play!

All submission really are possible after each other. That's why I REALLY mean it when I say that everyone submits good submissions. I always find it really cool to see what everyone comes up with. I get excited to see everyone's submission. I know it takes effort to play this game and I'm always impressed with the people who make the effort to play when they can AND for the new ones jumping in at any point and work to catch up.

I know that picking that 20 finger roll last week would be little challenging for all. And you guys all put in good effort. I know it's one of those moves that there is no short cut. Simply time and practice for it to get less jumpy and smoother. I was really impressed with where everyone was able to get with it! :D Well done, everyone.

Though all the submissions help with improving other cj moves, Cory's specifically worked in the exact same area. And knowing that the finger roll especially on the back of the hand is challenging, the learning side won out this week. This move makes you practice the finger rolls again on the back of both hands. Practicing this finger flurry will help your 20 finger roll also. This gives us a chance to keep focusing in the same area for a little longer plus also looks nice after the last move. (But all the submissions looked great after the last move too!) Next's week move could be chosen for a completely different reason! :D The super ultra fantastic secret formula is a secret after all. :D

This week, refer to Cory's video for sequence. Make sure you are getting both hands in there...backs and fronts. As usual, go as slow as you need to. Resist using momentum to throw the ball across your fingers. If you can slowly gain control and strengthen your fingers, the move will get smother, less jerky and just smoothly glide across. I know I have a long way to go on this as well. I also know that those of you who have been around awhile already understand this well.

Woot, Another week! This week's submission is open up again to go wherever! It's still going to be a bit before we get into difficult body rolls but we will get there eventually. That's a little hint to keep in mind when you're thinking of what you want to submit next.

You have between now and next Tuesday (Feb 28st) to submit your next entry. Your video should include:
1. Palmspin
2. Ratchet
3. Rotating Claw Iso
4. 20 Finger Roll
5.Finger Flurry Iso Variation
6..Your submission for what move you'd like to come next

You all are making this year quite awesome. :D

(Grateful - Thank you for the kind words. I love and am quite honored to be a part of this game. :D )

Yeah Cory!! I've been fiddling around with just such a flourish lately, switching back-of-fingers/pads-of-fingers every other pass. The 2 pass/2 pass edition looks boss as heck, yo

Alright, here goes...

I added a walking halfpipe.

I love how smooth your 20 finger roll is Zenoth. I need to start practicing it more like that.

Nothing fancy

I added a walking palm roll, I transferred to it by walking the finger flurry out to my side then moving into the palm roll.

hahaha "is that a fushigi ball?"
Very fluid on the curls!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzeZjZqSB8E

So I added a loop type thing to the end of my finger roll flurries. Still passing, palm to palm, back to back!
I filmed some ridiculous 20 takes today and just couldn't get it together.. I kept forgetting the order of moves and dropping.. Sigh!
I'm hoping next week I feel more on game!

Here's my video, sorry its dark and grainy, that's why I never film in the dark (like for my fire toys, you'd never see them).

But here I have my special guest, September, my girlfriend! And she learned the whole routine in a half hourish.

This week, we added in a trick that I learned from Okotanpe at EJC, a combination of a halfpipe and Zeta's weird loopy thing. I call these vertical spiral halfpipes (he calls them spirals, but there is already a trick by that name).
