Is good,
There's more great photos of him on flickr.
Briney - you say long nails.... Ahhhhh.
Also, that slow footage looks like its been edited to be slowed down.
Wicked costume, great skills, love the hair,
based on what I've seen, he deserves to be a very successful busker

I think nails is cheating anywhere... thumb, finger, dipod...

All about the balance.

Helps you understand other things, and slow things down too.

I figured you'd say that meg, anyway his was a nail stall not a thumb stall so you're still pioneering that one I reckon.

And yeah why is that video slowed down? can people stop tampering with these videos. He is based in Barcelona so I reckon the best way to see him would be to go to Spain and seek him out.

Is a single finger stall (like in the picture) even possible without nails?

Yes, it is.

mighty hard, but possible. Dipod is considerably easier. With two fingers, the ball can only fall to either side.

With one point of balance, you has 360 degrees of falling potential.

A ball will sit happily on a flat surface, right? And there is only ever a tiny part of that ball on the surface. replace surface for finger, and learn to keep very still, and learn how to correct.

It is possible to balance a ball ANYWHERE.

Anywhere?? This sounds like it has the potential to be the Great Contact Juggling Dare...or a very niche porn market. ^_^

Check out Bill Dan for some balance inspiration.

Certainly opened my eyes to the possibilities of balance.

Wow, beautiful stuff.

It's a shame that the last video has also had a spot of time manipulation thrown over it. I'd like to see him just in real time, not speeded up or slowed down.

But still wow! Big wow.

Well I think anything you do in performance that makes people go: Holy F&*k! Isn't really cheating. But if you actually want to learn a skill, then clearly yes, it's cheating.

Yeah, i wanna get the finger balance without nails, mostly cos I can't be bothered to trim my nails to the degree of accuracy required to get such a thing solid. His finger is pretty squished over thou, which makes me scared. Don't wanna try that with a 110mm acrylic... :s

I think thou that it helps to learn with nails and then gradually without nails, like you'd learn a club balance. (Er, not with nails growing out of your chin, but with easy then harder hierarchy ) The pad of the thumb balance you can't do this way, but the top of the thumb you can. I reckon...
