This is why I like my new Portland Fog ball. It's *meant* to be in the the sun to soak up the rays for UV glowing later.

Yeah, that's why they say that the black ones are good for practicing out in the sun and stuff like that....
But I totally would have kept the crystal! The crystal was more important to begin with!

meh well for my 'muppet' comment karma came and bit me today...was cjing on my lunch break and put my ball on my lap for a minute while talking and burned a hole in my skirt. luckily its only very small. ok, so im also a muppet

I have a length of bikechain round my wrist that will scratch the b'jeesus out of any nice looking ball within cooee of it. so I cut the top off a sock and put that over the chain when cjing (the chain doesnt come off)
I then put that same loop of sock round my acrylics when I put them down - stopping the sun shining through them. sorted.
as an aside, my company works with airlines, so we just had a load of promotional paperwieghts made that are a glass ball, with the world etched into them. - no good to juggle with because of the flat bottom, but guess where everyone has kept their one.. yup, you guessed it - on the windowsill. *sighs*
