spotted these on the firetoys website:
http://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/white_uv_acrylic_contact_juggling_ball.html
And I want, I want a lot. Has anybody seen them in the flesh yet, wondering whether they're any different to the usual white acrylic.
Or different enough to warrant buying a couple any way. _________________ Now all gatherymost to amuse it and have a tilty elbow or a nice cuffle-oteedee - Oh Yes!

Well, I have a UV ball but it's clear in regular light. Those look rather awesome though. _________________ I'm here to kick ass and play card games

ooooh. They even have some in the 2.5 inch size which would work better for me. However, with the dollar as weak as it is against the pound, plus the VAT, plus international shipping, I don't think I'll bother. _________________ ------------------

My two favorite US shops.
http://www.magicstor.com/files/acrylic.htm has very VERY inexpensive stock with a very large selection of sizes. The red ball I bought looks like a big ruby. <3 The uv ball is kick ass. Nioupy ordered some and he's in France and Sucias ordered some and he's in...Peru? Both of them love the stuff they bought.
The downside is these balls are NOT perfect. There's artifacts and a few other weirdnesses, but nothing someone watching you CJ would notice. Because I still drop my balls more often than not, this doesn't bother me because I don't want to buy a perfect ball and ruin it first time out.
For more upscale, but awesome balls, www.neonhusky.com is the way to go. Great products, great service. _________________ ------------------

Yeah it's a bit ludicrous. Shame that we have to pay customs charge or I'd order a lot more stuff from americee. _________________ Now all gatherymost to amuse it and have a tilty elbow or a nice cuffle-oteedee - Oh Yes!

Thanks a lot!
...oh gosh, these are great. Shipping prices aren't so superb tho...
http://www.magic.org has free shipping. Worldwide. (but only relatively small balls. And no coloured ones.) _________________ We live in our fantasies and endure our realities.

Kerry, what sort of thing were you looking for?
Just the one or two pretty balls, or a larger set? _________________ With practice, You too could be like Ryan Mellors... |

Well, thanks for the offer, anway...I'm not doing multiball just yet, I only need one big ball.
...some of you guys talked about your beautiful black balls, now I want one too.
I've ordered one at Dr. Bob's. *G*
Hope the customs leave it alone... _________________ We live in our fantasies and endure our realities.

On the subject of customs and the ridiculous prices of UK acrylics, I emailed the folks at Dr Bobs magic shop about international shipping and they replied: "We send as Novelty / Juggling Balls and have not heard of any Customs Charges - but I think VAT is added."
The stuff i want from America costs £110 inc P&P;, same items from UK comes to £260!!! Also, every time i try to do anything on Firetoys it crashes my laptop and that makes me reeally mad!!
sooo... senarios on a £110/$220 order of acrylics from America to UK:
Best case - only VAT is charged at 17.5% Order Total: £130
Worst case: 17.5% VAT is added, customs duty is payable at around 12% and Royal Mail handling fee is charged at £8 Order Total: £151
Am i missing anything? Just want to make sure i dont get landed with a whopper of a bill _________________ The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious - the fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science. - Einstein |
