Yeah, my brother can't be twelve in like a week either. Just think about how much Ender had already done when he was Joe's age. _________________ If you aren't a part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. |

I doubt they'd be all that good, not enough body to do a good long body roll. _________________ If you aren't a part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. |

but if they them selves could into a ball ( i sorta imagen them as armadilloish ) then roll a boll on top them selves, that would be nifty. _________________ .org addict |

Back on the topic of palm circles, after finishing off a liter of Gerolsteiner carbonated water, I unconsciously laid it flat on my palm and started doing spins with it, it was surprisingly easy. Perhaps because I'd been palmspinning my lacrosse balls all afternoon... _________________ If you aren't a part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. |

you don't palmspin lacrosse balls or stage balls, just smooth stuff like acrylics, metal, and polished wood. on the other hand, there are different tricks that can't be done with smooth balls, such as when you press a third ball between the two you hold in your hands and twist them (there is a technical term for this sort of manipulation but it escapes me... claymotion? something like that)
as in all things, the right tool for the right job. _________________ "Let them learn that unmagical people are put into the world to justify and serve the magical."

I do. Well I used to.
A 4 stage ball pyramid in one hand is a piece of cake. 2b is another piece of cake. but, 3b palm spin is a completely different ball game...

never heard of claymotion... I just thought the stuff mentioned above is tied into cigar boxes, thats where I got the idea for that stuff. But back then I was mostly throwing my props in the air rather than rolling them... |

I think stage balls are lower friction than lacrosse balls, but higher than acrylics and such, so to some degree you can palmspin stage balls, although as you have said the 3 ball pallmspin is difficult. And correct me if I'm wrong, the thechnique is very different, instead of the spheres grinding against each other, the balls grip and you move the mass as a whole.
Lacrosse balls and similar objects are so high friction that a two ball palmspin(or any palmspinning for that matter) has to be of the no-touch variety.
friction can be your friend or your enemy depending on what you are trying to do. _________________ "Let them learn that unmagical people are put into the world to justify and serve the magical."

I own a load of lacrosse balls, they aren't any more tacky that makes using them any different than vinyl/plastic stage balls or even silicone.

But not all palm spinning. as you know a 4b spin with lacrosse balls is done touching. And what about revolving doors or what ever that trick is called, tack really helps make things easier and there's touching. So I TOTALLY agree that "friction can be your friend or your enemy depending on what you are trying to do." I'll have to emphasize the "trying to do". if your trying to spin stage balls/tacky balls like acrylics/smooth balls then you will probably be quite limited. the answer is, don't. |
