((Ok so I needed another place to toss this out because I'm just a bit angsty lately. So for those of you who hate this poem, I am sorry. For those of you that it stirs something inside of you, especially we americans, GOOD. Maybe you can help do something to fix it.))

Deconstruction (otherwise known as I my mind rambles to much)
Current mood: thoughtful

This is the song I sing about life

The twisted, melancholy rhapsody that flies in the air for mere seconds until it is shot down

Down, tumbling like a wounded crow into a cornfield full of scarecrows, searching for brains between the ears.

Here I sit like a ventriloquist dummy who has had enough of repeating the words of the man with his hand on the strings

And yet when the pressure is applied, this stool pigeon sings.

This is the story I tell about the real Evil Empire

What happened to Oz since Dorothy left?

Why were the munchkins all enslaved to the boob tube media shouting how impressive

it is that the Tin Woodman in charge has found his oil rig heart and is pumping out black gold while railing against the shortage of fuel.

No one notices the Cowardly Lion roar in pain as hes stripped of his newfound courage and told to sit in the corner and use the litter box like a good kitty.

King of the Beasts eats scraps from the table like everyone else, while the Winged Monkeys dance in the government buildings and fling poo at the most sacred documents, calling for war

The Emerald City is tarnished and brown, and the best boys lay in the sand without magic slippers to send them home.

The good witch has disappeared under suspicion of foul play

The rumor underground is that she had something they didnt want her to say

The poppy fields were torn down to erect a massive wall, keep the Winkies out, they arent people unless they sign papers

Oz is falling down and theres no wonderful wizard

This is the dirge I beat for the nation

Time is a steam roller, powerful and relentless

This train doesnt stop till the last station is past and the tracks run out

Dollars dont buy your way out of hell, and the backs of the poor wont hold out forever

Dont you think that things come to an end, with fire and brimstone and inflation of costs?

This is the poem I write for us all

Trembling, pulsing wake up call bouncing through cyberspace to echo off of lonely synapses

Unplug,

Open Your Eyes

Dorothy never made it back to Kansas because theres no such thing as home anymore
