Got my vote in with Ian, and Rob…. Maglican,

I never attempted it till I tried it with the Mathmos glow balls
Those are (I think) 3.25, silicone coated.

I still can't do three yet, cause my hands are just not that big to handle them,
I'll get it someday, but for now I'm working on getting two to go really fast, and it's taken some work, but the stickiness of them hitting each other has certainly helped find the right pattern with 3"

You might want to up-size with a silicone for practice, and down size for performance.

Threes will work though, as former posters have stated.
I use nothing but three inch acrylic for shows, and it is possible, but the Vegas silicone balls have helped out in practice quite a bit. I don't have big hands either and my height equates that…..5'10"
